かねて申し付けがあったので、浦々より船を差し出したが、大風波のため船を寄せることができなかった。総じて朝鮮船は唐船とも違い、鉄釘を打たず縫い留めのみで、日本船よりも脆弱である由。この節、警固の旧本船二艘共に前々に吹き散らされ少々破損もしたが、無事に六里程の脇大浦という所へ吹き付けられ、乗組の人数も存命した由。朝鮮と對州の間の海上は殊の外海が荒く難所で、渡海が困難である由である。
○同年十一月二十二日大地震。御城内外の曲輪・見付・御門・所々の石垣等が大破し、御普請御手伝いを諸大名に仰せ付けられた。御城御普請御手伝いを申し上げ、四月二十九日御礼として時服三十宛：

○同年 紀州様御屋敷御類焼、左京大夫様御屋敷同断。
一 元禄十七申年二月四日、松平越後守光長卿九十賀として御刀《青江吉次》三種二荷を献上《御内々より御差上》。宝永四亥十一月十七日卒去、九十三歳なり。

○元禄十五年に仰せ出されたのは、本田畑に多くの柴を紛れ作ることをしてはならない由相触れたところ、追々多くの柴を紛れ作り出すので、来未年より当年作の半分作るべし。右以後年々作ることを減らすよう仰せ出され、宝永元申年も右の儀を仰せ出された。

Although orders had been given beforehand and ships were dispatched from various harbors, they could not approach due to severe winds and waves. In general, Korean ships differ from Chinese ships in that they use no iron nails and are held together only by stitching, making them more fragile than Japanese ships. At this time, the two old escort ships had been scattered by previous storms and suffered some damage, but safely drifted to a place called Waki-Ōura about six ri away, and all the crew survived. The sea between Korea and Tsushima is extremely rough and treacherous, making sea crossings very difficult.
○November 22nd of the same year: Great earthquake. The castle's inner and outer baileys, checkpoints, gates, and stone walls in various places were severely damaged, and various daimyo were ordered to assist with repairs. One: On February 4th, Genroku 17, year of the Monkey, Lord Matsudaira Echigo-no-kami Mitsunaga presented three swords <<by Aoe Yoshitsugu>> in two loads for his ninetieth birthday celebration <<presented privately from within>>. He died on November 17th, Hōei 4, year of the Boar, at age ninety-three.
○October of the same year: A veterinarian named Hashimoto Gonnosuke killed a dog and was executed. An official notice was issued regarding this matter.
○In Genroku 15, it was proclaimed that growing brushwood mixed in with regular rice fields should not be done, but as people continued to grow mixed brushwood, from the coming year of the Sheep, only half of the current year's crop should be grown. After this, it was proclaimed that the amount grown each year should be reduced, and this was also proclaimed in Hōei 1, year of the Monkey.
○December of the same year: Lord Kōfu Chūnagon Ienobu was proclaimed as adopted heir and entered the West Palace. They are respectfully called "Both Their Lordships." Ichii-sama, Odai-sama, Omisuchū-sama. Daimyo presented gifts in December.
