帛紙にて取り交わすなどと書いたのもこの事を言っているのである。またある文には呉葉取り、綾羽取りの二人は献牛織女の星の精霊であるとされ、それゆえこの虫が卵を産み付ける様子も、とにかく丸く取り囲むようにするのを星を作ると言うのである。上の方のことを葉に産み付けるなどと言うのは不適切であるからである。また重ね付けるということがあり、これは性質の悪い種で、虫の気持ちが悪い時に嫌がって上に産み付けて一箇所に重なり合っていることがある。この種は白け種で、病気種とも言うのである。しかしながら取り捨てるにも及ばず、自然にすれて いつとも知れず落ち薄れるものである。人間に例えれば月足らずの子のようで、育たない種である。ただし紙の準備の仕方は一枚の四方三、四分ばかりも折り返して箱のように作って蝶を取り入れるのである。商人などが数にする紙は一寸ばかりも折り隠れるが、所詮紙の端まで びっしりと産み付けたのは取り置きも悪く、見苦しく見えるものである。また来年まで貯蔵する紙は少しばかりは屋根裏などに挟み差し置く。多くあるのは籠などにも入れ、鼠に用心し風が当たるようにして持つべきである。冬に水に入れる

Also, in certain texts, it is said that the two figures Kurehatori and Ayahatori are the spirits of the stars Kengyū and Shokujo (Altair and Vega), and therefore when these insects lay eggs, arranging them in a circular pattern is called "making stars." Saying that eggs are laid "on leaves" in the upper areas is inappropriate. There is also something called "layered laying," which occurs with inferior seed quality when the insects are in poor spirits and reluctantly lay eggs on top of each other in one place.
