カフリ（かふり）はアフリカの内にあって大変暑い国の大国である。風俗は卑しく、下層民は肌の色が非常に黒く、剛強で死を恐れることを知らない。愚直であって他人の奴隷となっては、よく主人に忠義を尽くした。この理由でヨーロッパの諸国はこの国の人を買い取って奴隷とする。この国の本国をモノモタツパアという。
