小人（せうじん）は波智亞（ぼちや）といふ国也欧羅巴東北の隅辺（ぐうへん）北の方／冰海（ひようかい）に至
れる地也大寒国にて半年／昼（ひる）のみ続（つゞ）き半年は夜のみ続くと云
人の長（たけ）一尺二三寸と云伝ふ然れ共／実（じつ）は二尺有余也といへり唐土に短人（たんじん）《割書：と云｜是也》

小人（しょうじん）は波智亞（ボヘミア）という国である。ヨーロッパ東北の隅、北の方は氷海に至る土地である。極寒の国で、半年は昼のみが続き、半年は夜のみが続くという。
人の身長は一尺二、三寸と伝えられている。しかし実際は二尺余りであるという。中国では短人と呼ばれ、これと同じものである。

The small people (shōjin) are from a country called Hachia (Bohemia). It is located in the northeastern corner of Europe, with the northern region extending to the frozen sea. It is an extremely cold country where daylight continues for half the year and night continues for the other half.
It is传说传说传说 that people's height is one shaku and two to three sun. However, in reality they are said to be over two shaku tall. In China they are called "short people" (tanjin), and this refers to the same thing.
