昔々より御子様方がご存知の桃太郎が鬼ヶ島より宝を取って帰ってきた、その後は桃太郎がどうしたのやら、爺さん婆さんがどうしたのやら、一向に栄えて終わってしまったのを、ようやく聞き出し、昔話の第二番目として、嘘というのは少しもなく、大声で門を二冊となし、御慰みに御覧いただくものである。

The story of Momotarō, which noble children have known since ancient times - after he returned from Oni Island with treasure, what became of Momotarō thereafter, what became of the old man and old woman, these matters prospered greatly and then ended. Having finally heard the details of this, [we present] the second part of this old tale. There is not the slightest falsehood in this great proclamation, made into two volumes for your entertainment and viewing pleasure.
