右の刀鍛冶が打ち立てた刀の出来は山城（守国清）ほどではございませんが、技術は優秀でございます。

一、四月十三日 登城し、参勤の御礼を申し上げ、例の通り御太刀・銀・綿を献上いたしました。そして連れてまいりました家来の本田修理（恒久）の御目見えを仰せ付けられ、相済みました。右の御礼のため御老中・若年寄中を御廻勤いたしました。
一、同月十六日 先達て仰せ出でられました御国鍛冶播磨の打刀一腰を、左の通り御書付を添えて御使者御留守居大関新五左衛門（直看）を以て指し出しました。
「先日仰せ渡されました打物の儀につき、在所に罷り在ります拙者の家来播磨大極重高は細工を大概に仕りますが、技術は優秀でございます。よって打ち置きました刀一腰を差し出し申し上げます。以上」
四月十五日 松平伊予守
一、同月十七日 初姫様が福井において御誕生されました。御母は辻氏（於八重方）でございます。

April 9th Ozeki Shingorōzaemon
1. April 13th: Went to the castle and expressed gratitude for the sankin (alternate attendance), offering the customary tachi sword, silver, and cotton as tribute. The retainer I brought with me, Honda Shuri (Tsunehisa), was granted an audience, which was completed. As thanks for this, I made rounds to visit the rōjū (senior councilors) and wakadoshiyori (junior councilors).
1. Same month, 16th: Regarding the sword forged by the provincial swordsmith Harima that was previously ordered, one katana was submitted through messenger and keeper of the Edo residence Ozeki Shingorōzaemon (Naomi) with the following written statement:
"Regarding the forged weapons that were ordered the other day, my retainer Harima Daikyoku Shigetaka, who resides in the domain, performs his craft adequately, though his skills are excellent. Therefore, I submit one sword that has been forged. The above."
