現代語訳
出向いたところ、出火の節には御人数を火消として指し出すべき旨を仰せ渡され、左の通り御書付を渡されました。
松平伊予守
出火の節、風が激しく大火に及ぶ様子の場合には防ぐべく仰せ候。自身が出向くことではなく、騎馬その他人数のみを指し出すべく候。右の人数等は別紙書付の通り心得るべく候。それにつき火事の時分、留守居の者の中から一人を榊原式部大夫上屋敷表門通り角の辻番所へ出して置くべく申し候。御目付・御使番の内を以て防火の儀を仰せ付けられる間、御指図の場所へ人数を召し連れて指し出すべく申し候。右用意の人数は屋敷の内に指し置くべく候。留守居の者が彼の辻番所まで出る儀は、小火又は遠方の火事には及ばないことに候。

went out, where he was ordered that in case of fires, personnel should be sent out for firefighting, and the following written instructions were given:
Matsudaira Iyo no kami
In case of fire, when the wind is strong and it appears it may become a great fire, you shall work to prevent it. You yourself need not go out personally, but shall send out only mounted personnel and other men. Regarding the said personnel, you should understand according to the separate written instructions. In connection with this, during times of fire, one person from among the keeper of residence should be stationed at the guard post at the corner intersection by the front gate of Sakakibara Shikibu Dayū's upper residence. Fire prevention duties will be assigned through the metsuke (inspectors) and ometsuke ban (guard officers), so you should bring personnel to the designated locations as instructed. The said prepared personnel should be stationed within the residence. The keeper of residence going out to that intersection guard post is not necessary for small fires or distant fires.
