倒れ打たれて死んだ者の数は知れず、所々で大地が破れ流れ、十間・二十間位の所は数ヶ所あります。中でも伊奈郡地懸村々では人家・田畑にかけて幅七八間、長さ四丁程の大破裂があり、人民・獣の類が落ち入ることが夥しく、その内から泥水・火・煙が交じって吹き出し、白昼が闇夜のようになり、火の光の恐ろしいことは言語に尽くし難く、一面泥海となりました。この先どのようになるのか、只今の様子では信州一国はまず人種が尽きるだろうと考えられます。
当時殿様は御在国で、御城の南の青池村という所の竹林十丁四方位の所へお立ち退きになったとまでは承っておりますが、御生死の程は心もとなく存じます。上田・小諸その外も右同様の由でございますが、他の御領のことゆえ詳しくは分かりません。この段、急ぎ御注進いたします。
