右を拝見し終わって、明日の言上の書付を左の通り差し出した。
但し明日 御目見の御沙汰が無い場合でも
言上の書付は差し出すのが先例である由
去る二十日日光において
御霊屋での
御名代の拝礼を首尾よく相勤め、天気まで
良く万端滞りなく相済み申し候
右の通り言上仕るべきと存じ奉り候 以上

右の書付を御留め置かれ、その節少し下がって安否の儀を申し上げ、この度日光の御霊屋での御名代を滞りなく相勤め、御宮・御霊屋での自分の拝礼も仕り、ありがたい仕合わせと存じ奉る段を申し述べて退座した。料理の礼を用人に申し置き、それより年寄衆の本多弾正大弼殿へ廻勤を申し置き、八時過ぎに屋敷に着いた。
一明日帰府の御目見を 仰せ付けられ候につき、大目付桑原予州、御目付桑原善兵衛へ知らせのため手紙を差し遣わし、委細は表控えにこれ有り、略す。
一明日 殿中御清めの御沙汰は無い候えども

Having finished the above report, regarding tomorrow's audience upon return from Nikko, the following written order was received:
Addressed to: Tsuchiya Tajima-no-kami (written on the sleeve)
To Tsuchiya Tajima-no-kami
Tomorrow, the 24th, you are commanded to have an audience upon return from Nikko. You shall arrive at the castle at 5:30 (approximately 9:00 AM).
April 23rd
After reviewing the above, the following written report was submitted for tomorrow's formal address:

On the 20th at Nikko's
Sacred Mausoleum,
the proxy worship was successfully completed, the weather was favorable, and all matters were accomplished without incident.
I humbly submit the above report.
April 23rd Tsuchiya Tajima-no-kami
The above document was retained, and at that time, stepping back slightly, I reported on well-being matters, stating that this time the proxy duty at Nikko's Sacred Mausoleum was completed without incident, and that I was grateful to have personally worshipped at both the Sacred Shrine and Mausoleum. After making this statement, I withdrew. I expressed gratitude for the meal to the attendant, then paid respects to Elder Councillor Honda Danjō-daiyū, and arrived at my residence after 8 o'clock (approximately 2:00 PM).
Tomorrow's audience upon return to the capital has been commanded, so I sent letters to Grand Inspector Kuwabara Yoshū and Inspector Kuwabara Zenbei to notify them. Details are recorded in the official records, here abbreviated.
Tomorrow, there was no word regarding purification ceremonies at the palace, however...
