四月一日
一、今朝八時前、老中を退任した者からの奉書が、月番の阿部伊予守殿より到着し、拝見したところ、明日二日に御用の件があるので四時に登城するようにとの旨が書かれていた。即刻承諾の旨を、留守居使者を通して伊予守殿へ申し送った。
二日
一、四時前に三寸の供揃えで、服紗袷半上下を着用して出宅した。
今日御用の件があり召し出されるということで登城し、坊主を通じて目付衆のところへ参上した旨を申し上げた。桑原善兵衛がこれを承知した旨返答があった。太田備後守殿も同様に召し出されて登城した。

- This morning before the 8th hour (around 8 AM), a formal letter from a retired senior councilor arrived via Abe Iyo-no-kami-dono, who was the monthly duty officer. Upon reading it, it stated that there would be official business tomorrow, the 2nd day, and I should report to the castle at the 4th hour (around 10 AM). I immediately sent word of acceptance through a caretaker's messenger to Iyo-no-kami-dono.
2nd day
- Before the 4th hour, I departed my residence with a three-sun escort formation, wearing formal summer silk court dress. Since there was official business today and I had been summoned, I went to the castle and through a monk attendant, reported my arrival to the inspectors' office. Kuwabara Zenbei acknowledged this and gave a response. Ota Bingo-no-kami-dono was also similarly summoned and went to the castle.
