1. On February 15th, for the birthday celebration, handled in Edo as follows:
To Sannō Shrine and Kanda Myōjin: Mirror rice cakes made with 5 shō of white rice, one decoration each, white sanpō wrapping with noshi
To the front garden Inari Shrine, subsidiary shrines, Akiba Shrine, birth deity, smallpox deity:
Red and white small offerings, 6 decorations, 3 pairs of sacred sake
Red and white small rice cakes, 5 decorations, 3 pairs of sacred sake
To the heavenly child: One soup and five dishes, one red and white small offering
To Princess: One decoration of red and white rice cakes
To residence ladies-in-waiting: 5 shō of sake, one bowl of vinegared dish for 50 people, 100 kashiwa rice cakes
1. Old precedent: On March 25th, Bunsei 7 (1824), Year of the Monkey, for Itokuin's birthday, as follows:
To Sannō Shrine: One decoration of rice cakes, white sanpō, offered through chamberlain's proxy worship
To the inner palace altar: 6 small rice cakes, but no sacred sake
To front Inari Shrine, birth deity, smallpox deity, well deity, kitchen deity: 5 decorations of small offerings, 5 pairs of sacred sake
To Reiganjima Eleven Shrines: 11 small offerings, 11 pairs of sacred sake, but shopping handled at Reiganjima
Considerations for Inner Palace Sleeping Arrangements
1. On the eve of memorial months for successive Shogun generations, sleep in front quarters; on the day itself, in inner palace
