現代語訳
本多内蔵助、御家老、御城代、御中老に御吸物、御酒の御相伴を仰せ付けられ、
御盃を下された。盃を御前へ召し上げられ、御匕（スプーン）、医師一人が御相伴に罢り出る筈であったが、時刻が移り御手間取りにもなったので、御盃を御辞退申し上げた。
一、右の御式が相済み、小兵衛、新五兵衛は退出した。また十日間の休み中、小兵衛、新五兵衛が四番勤めで、隼人が帰番相勤めした。
一、御三度御膳とお一緒に御祝膳を召し上がった。
一、五月十六日、本多路夕が初めて御懇意隠居、御中老息並びに御懇意隠居として、御座の間において御袴をお召しになり、御目見を仰せ付けられた。
一、五月十八日、五時半の御供揃いで、御宮、御霊屋、運正寺、孝顕寺、瑞源寺、華蔵寺、東光寺へ御装束にて御参詣あそばされた。但し御宮、御霊屋を御拝になり、それから運正寺へ御参詣あそばされ、公儀御霊屋を御拝あそばされ、それから書院へお入りになり、御長袴にお召し替えあそばされ、御位牌所を御拝あそばされ、それから御霊屋を残らず御拝あそばされた。
一、十九日、御本丸御馬場にて御打毬（ポロ）をあそばされ、御次打毬も仰せ付けられた。

右は御側向頭取まで差し出したので、御前へ差し上げた。
一、五月二十二日、五時半の御供揃いで、裏口から神明、足羽、人丸、勝軍地蔵、黒龍宮へ御参詣あそばされた。御帰殿は表御玄関。但し前夜から忌服御改めあり。
一、五月二十四日、四時揃いで御家老中をはじめ郡奉行まで、御留守御用を御聞きあそばされた。

Honda Kuranosuke, chief retainers, castle deputy, and elders were invited to partake in soup and sake. Ceremonial cups were bestowed. The cups were presented before his lordship, and a spoon and one physician were supposed to attend the banquet, but as time had passed and it would cause delays, the ceremonial cups were respectfully declined.
- After the above ceremony was completed, Kohei and Shingobei withdrew. Also, during the ten-day rest period, Kohei and Shingobei served the fourth shift, while Hayato served the return shift.
- The celebratory meal was consumed together with the three regular meals.
- 5th month, 16th day: Honda Roya first became a trusted retired retainer, and along with the elder's son and other trusted retired retainers, was granted audience in the sitting room while his lordship wore formal hakama.
- 5th month, 18th day: At 5:30 with full retinue, visited the shrine, mausoleum, Unsho-ji, Koken-ji, Zuigen-ji, Kezo-ji, and Toko-ji temples in formal attire. First worshipped at the shrine and mausoleum, then visited Unsho-ji temple, worshipped at the shogunate mausoleum, then entered the study hall, changed into long hakama, worshipped at the memorial tablet hall, then worshipped at all remaining mausolea.
- 19th day: Played kemari (kickball) at the main castle's horse grounds, and ordered the next round of kemari as well.

As he was departing tomorrow, he was granted audience in the same room. The chamberlain arranged this, and again before his lordship, the above items were bestowed, arranged by the attendant head.

This was submitted to the attendant head, so it was presented before his lordship.
- 5th month, 22nd day: At 5:30 with full retinue, visited Shinmei, Asuwa, Hitomaro, Shogun Jizo, and Kokuryū shrines via the rear entrance. Returned to the palace via the front entrance. However, mourning period inspections were conducted from the previous night.
- 5th month, 24th day: At 4:00 assembly, heard reports on caretaker duties from chief retainers through district magistrates.
