第一談
往年異域に漂流いたし此度帰朝仕候
土佐國阿吾川郡宇佐浦漁人傳蔵同人弟
五右衛門同國幡多郡中ノ濵万次郎三人長
崎御奉行所におゐて御詮議ニ相成候ニ付
帰國仕り追手御屋敷江被召出候節面談
いたし相尋候趣答ニ及候事左の如し
一 私共三人去ル天保十二年辛丑正月五日傳蔵弟重助
同所寅右衛門都合五人申合かわら【航】ニ丈五尺の漁船に
白米一斗餘用意仕り其日四ツ過宇佐浦出帆ニ而十四五

漂流者の奇談
第一話
以前に異国に漂流し、このたび帰国した
土佐国安芸川郡宇佐浦の漁師伝蔵、同じくその弟
五右衛門、同国幡多郡中ノ浜の万次郎の三人が長
崎奉行所において取り調べを受けることになったので
帰国し、追手御屋敷に呼び出された際に面談し
質問したことに対する答えは次の通りである
一 私ども三人は、去る天保十二年辛丑正月五日、伝蔵の弟重助、
同じ場所の寅右衛門と合わせて五人で申し合わせ、かつお漁に丈五尺の漁船で
白米一斗余りを用意し、その日四つ時過ぎに宇佐浦を出帆して十四、五

Strange Tales of a Castaway
First Tale
Previously drifted to foreign lands and have now returned to Japan
Three men: Denzō, a fisherman from Usa-ura, Aki-gawa District, Tosa Province, his brother
Goemon, and Manjirō from Nakanohama, Hata District of the same province, were
to be interrogated at the Nagasaki Magistrate's Office, so after
returning to Japan, when summoned to the Otte residence, I had an interview
with them and asked questions. Their answers were as follows:
One: We three, on the 5th day of the 1st month of Tenpō 12, year of the metal ox, together with Denzō's brother Jūsuke
and Toraemon from the same place, a total of five men, agreed to go bonito fishing in a fishing boat of 5 shaku in length,
prepared more than one to of white rice, and departed from Usa-ura after the hour of the Monkey (around 3-4 PM) on that day, fourteen or fifteen
