義に候得共伝馬より致上本船直格乗通り候

衛門については、残りたいと申し置いて、去年十月に同所を出帆した。当年正月二日に洋上から琉球国も見通せるところで伝馬船をおろしたところ、風雨が強く着船が困難で、陸地の山陰に船を寄せて留まり、翌三日にようやく上陸した。本船と伝馬船をおろして戌亥の方角（北西）へ向かったと申し出た。もっとも漂流人の件については取り調べるべきことであるが、伝馬船から上陸し、本船はそのまま通り過ぎたため、やむを得ず宗門の件を取り調べたところ、邪宗（キリスト教）などは学んでいないと申し出たため、人家を明け渡して介抱した。この件について琉球国から送り越されたため、さらに当地において取り調べたところ、前述の通り何も不審な点はなかった。これにより警護の者を付け添えて送り遣わす旨を長崎奉行へ詳細に申し述べた。この件をご報告申し上げる。以上

As for Toraemon, he expressed his desire to remain behind, and they departed from there in the tenth month of last year. On the second day of the first month of this year, when the Ryukyu Kingdom could be seen from the ocean, they lowered the small boat, but due to strong wind and rain, landing was difficult, so they brought the boat to the shelter of mountains on land and stayed there. On the following third day, they finally came ashore. They stated that after lowering the small boat from the main ship, it sailed away in the northwest direction. Although the matter of castaways should naturally be investigated, since he came ashore from the small boat while the main ship sailed directly past, there was no choice but to examine him regarding religious matters. When questioned, he stated that he had not learned any heretical religions (Christianity), so a house was provided and he was given care. Since this matter was sent over from the Ryukyu Kingdom, he was further questioned here at this location, and as stated above, nothing suspicious was found. Therefore, I have reported in detail to the Nagasaki Magistrate that he should be sent on with guards attached. I hereby report this matter. The above.
