右一巻和蘭人近時撥乱及正の盛を記して
其世子奮戦図の週に掲鏤せしものなり蓋
彼の功烈を後世に輝さんとなるへし故に唯其
挭概を述るのみ此ころ桂川氏か所蔵なる
を乞ふて訳せしめ甲比丹スツルレルか説話と
併せて当時の光景を観るの一助に備と云

以上一巻は、オランダ人が近時の動乱平定と正義の盛大さを記して、その世継ぎ（皇太子）の奮戦図の周囲に刻み込んだものである。おそらく彼（ナポレオン）の功績と烈行を後世に輝かせようとするものであろう。故に、ただその勇壮な概要を述べるのみである。このころ桂川氏が所蔵するものを借り受けて翻訳させ、甲比丹シュトゥルレルの説話と合わせて、当時の光景を観察する一助に備えるという。

The above volume records how the Dutch documented the recent suppression of rebellion and the triumph of justice, engraved around illustrations of the crown prince's valiant battles. This was probably intended to make his (Napoleon's) achievements and heroic deeds shine for posterity. Therefore, it merely describes the general outline of his valor. At this time, I borrowed what was in the collection of Mr. Katsukawa and had it translated, combining it with Captain Sturler's accounts to serve as an aid in observing the scenes of that era.
