なお、情報部は海外に対して震災の真相と、それに対処しつつある日本人の姿勢を明らかにする必要を感じたため、外務省情報局を通じて、震災の実情、政府の対応策、日本人の態度等に関する情報を海外の新聞紙に発表した。
それ以来、幸いにして被災地の民心は次第に安定し、新聞紙の発行状況もほぼ平常に戻っただけでなく、部員各自の本来の通常業務もまた次第に繁忙となってきたため、到底以前のように編集・発行を継続するだけの余力がなくなった。そのため、9月20日より発行回数を減らして1日おおむね1回とし、9月22日に神奈川県版を廃刊し、24日に情報部を総務部に合併して、事務を同部情報係に引き継ぎ、当面「震災実報」の発行を継続するとともに、新聞社・通信社に対して震災の事後処理に関する正確な情報を供給し続けている。
九、義捐の状況
一、義捐の状況
今回の震火災による大惨害に対しては、畏れ多くも天皇陛下より金一千万円、各皇族殿下より金五十万円を救恤の資として恩賜の御沙汰があっただけでなく、全国各地および海外諸国の同情は深く、義捐の申し込みが極めて多く、当局が10月8日までに申し込みを受けた義捐金額の累計は四千五百三十八万八千六百五十五円五十二銭（有価証券時価換算額九十三万二千円を含む）、義捐品見積価格の累計は約二千六百二十一万二千円という巨額に達した。
右の義捐金品を国の内外によって区分すれば以下の通りである。

二、義捐品取扱方針
義捐品は一旦義捐部において記帳の上、局内各関係部に引き継ぎ、各関係部において適当な基準に従って配分する。

9. Status of Charitable Donations

In response to the great calamity caused by this earthquake and fire disaster, His Imperial Majesty graciously donated ten million yen, and the various Imperial Family members donated five hundred thousand yen as relief funds. Beyond this imperial benevolence, the sympathy from across the nation and from foreign countries was profound, and donation applications were extremely numerous. The cumulative total of donation funds received by the authorities up to October 8th reached 45,388,655 yen and 52 sen (including 932,000 yen in securities converted at market value), and the estimated cumulative value of donated goods reached approximately 26,212,000 yen — an enormous sum.
