【木の図の中に】〇なかさ七間半
【左丁】
法にはなかみを四／角（かく）#1におりて、
又すみとすみとおりて#2、下のすみに
小石をかみよりにてつりさげて、
かみのすみ〳〵のかねのあふ／所（ところ）にて
見るべし。さている所より木のね
まて、けんざをにてうちてみる時に
七間有。これに居だけを三尺くわへる
時に、木のながさ七間半といふ也。

測量法では中身を四角に折って、
また隅と隅を折って、下の隅に
小石を上からの糸で吊り下げて、
上の隅々の金具の合う
所で見るべきである。定まっている所から木の根
まで、間竿で打って測る時に
七間ある。これに居丈を三尺加える
時に、木の長さ七間半というのである。

In the surveying method, fold the inside into a square shape,
and also fold corner to corner, hang
a small stone with string from above to the bottom corner,
and observe at the place where the metal fittings
of the upper corners meet. From the established point to the root
of the tree, when measuring by striking with a measuring rod,
there are seven ken. When adding the sitting height of three shaku
to this, the length of the tree is said to be seven and a half ken.
