▲また言うには、男女合わせて48億9万9千6百48人を大乗の億（万万を億という）で計算するときには、何里四方に入るかというと
○縦 9里9町20間1尺3寸4分である

右の億という単位には二つの解釈があるため、このように二通りの方法で計算して配置するのである

乗り合わせるとき、何里ずつ乗ることになるか
○1人当たり4里半ずつ乗ることになる
○1里半ずつ乗っては交代して順繰りに乗る
1人目は 馬に1里半乗って 降りる
2人目は 馬に3里乗って 降りる
3人目は 馬に4里半乗って 降りる
4人目は最初1里半歩いて、1里半目から乗って通す
1里半乗って降りた人は、また3里目から乗って通る
3里乗った人は4里半目から乗って通す

How many ri does each person ride?
○ Each person rides 4 ri and a half
○ They ride 1 ri and a half each, then take turns riding in rotation
Person 1: Rides a horse for 1.5 ri, then dismounts
Person 2: Rides a horse for 3 ri, then dismounts
Person 3: Rides a horse for 4.5 ri, then dismounts
Person 4: Walks the first 1.5 ri, then rides from the 1.5 ri mark to the end
The person who rode 1.5 ri and dismounted rides again from the 3 ri mark to the end
The person who rode 3 ri rides from the 4.5 ri mark to the end
