せ給ふにより判官（ほうぐわん）どの主従（しう〳〵）
つくり山ぶしとなりて
おくへ御下りのよし

きこしめし
およばれ国々に
新せきをたて山ふしを
かくゑらび申せとの御事にて候此所
をばそれがしうけ給はり山ぶしを
とゞめ申候いかにたれか
ある今日も山ぶしの

現代語訳
『通増安宅関（とおりますあたかのせき）』上巻 いせ治
このような者は加賀国の富樫の某（なにがし）でございます。さて、源頼朝と義経の御仲が悪くなられたことにより、判官殿（義経）が主従ともに山伏に変装して奥州へ下られるということを頼朝がお聞きになり、諸国に新しい関所を設けて山伏を厳しく詮索せよとの御命令でございます。この場所を私が拝命いたし、山伏を取り調べ申しております。さあ、誰かいるか。今日も山伏の通行があればこちらへ申し出よ。

I am a certain Togashi of Kaga Province. Now, due to the deteriorating relationship between Minamoto no Yoritomo and Yoshitsune, when Yoritomo heard that Lord Hōgan (Yoshitsune) and his retainers had disguised themselves as mountain priests (yamabushi) and were heading down to the northern provinces, he issued orders to establish new barrier stations throughout the provinces and to strictly examine all mountain priests. I have been entrusted with this location and am inspecting mountain priests. Come now, is anyone there? If any mountain priests pass through today, report it to me immediately.
