現代語訳

司馬道士の天台に遊ぶを送る　　　宋之問

羽客の笙歌この地に違い
離筵数処白雲飛ぶ
蓬萊闕下長く相憶わん
桐柏山頭去りて帰らず

羽客（道士）の笙や歌などというものは、なかなか人間的に聞くことはできないが、この人の笙歌ゆえに聞いているのである。今このところを離れ去られるゆえ、これで最後となる。送別の宴席を見れば、どこもかしこも白雲がたなびいて道士を迎えに来たような様子である。今別れて桐柏山へ向かわれたならば、もうこのところへ帰ることはあるまい。蓬萊闕下の宮中で長くこちらの事を思い出してくれるであろう。蓬萊闕は天子の宮殿、桐柏は天台の別名である。

Seeing Off the Daoist Master Sima on His Journey to Mount Tiantai　　　Song Zhiwen

The feathered guest's reed pipe and songs now depart from this place
At the farewell banquet in several locations, white clouds fly
Long will you be remembered beneath the Penglai Palace
Having departed for the peak of Tongbai Mountain, you will not return

The music of the feathered guest (Daoist) - his reed pipes and songs - are not something ordinary people can easily hear, but we have been blessed to hear this person's music. Now that he is departing from this place, this will be the last time. Looking at the farewell banquet, everywhere white clouds drift as if they have come to escort the Daoist master. Now that he has departed for Tongbai Mountain, he will likely never return to this place again. Long will he remember us from beneath the Penglai Palace in the imperial court. Penglai Palace refers to the emperor's palace, and Tongbai is another name for Mount Tiantai.
