白馬金鞍従武皇　旌旗十万宿長楊
楼頭小婦鳴箏坐　遥見飛塵入建章

白い馬に金の鞍で武皇に従い、旌旗十万が長楊宮に宿る
楼上の小さな婦人が箏を鳴らして座り、遥かに塵が舞い上がって建章宮に入るのを見る

玄宗の色を好むのを諫めて不興といふ武士の浮気者ども、白馬に乗り帝の御遊びのお供をして華やかなことだ。旗を立て並べて長楊宮に宿す。この十万余りの者とも、箏などを鳴らして座していながら、遥かに向こうを我がなじみの少年どもが建章宮に入るのを横目で見ているという。いい捨てておく面白い、高貴な身分同士が見つめ合いするする浮気の情を言う。詳しくは箋註あるいは国字解・掌故などにあり、ここに略す。

A young woman on the tower sits playing the zither, watching from afar as dust clouds enter Jianzhang Palace.

This admonishes Emperor Xuanzong's fondness for women, describing the displeasure of warriors. These philandering warriors, riding white horses and accompanying the emperor's entertainments, make a splendid sight. They set up banners in rows and lodge at Chanyang Palace. While these hundred thousand or so men play zithers and such instruments while seated, they cast sidelong glances at their young male companions entering Jianzhang Palace in the distance. Setting this aside, it speaks of the interesting romantic sentiments between those of noble birth who gaze at each other. Details can be found in commentaries, vernacular explanations, historical records, and such, which are abbreviated here.
