現代語訳
伝介は自分の口車のせいで大役を言いつけられ、あながち運がなくもないけれど、自分の心安い女を多夫桟敷へやる気で連れて来たところ、大勢に捕まり、いろいろと責められた。
「お前がたを天狗にするつもりで来やした」と言えば、伝介が惑いに入った事を知って、「返さず、私さえ帰らなければ、この相談もやめになり、女の天狗は敵討ちのようにでも高慢になさりやせ。私が請け合います。天狗たちも心安くいたしたが、女というのは一人もなし。怖い事も何にもない。女は天狗になる気遣いなし。蛇になる事は請け合いませぬ」と、伝介の話をありのままにてご覧に入れ申し上げます。

Because of Densuke's own smooth talking, he was assigned this major role. Though it wasn't entirely without merit, when he came with the intention of bringing his familiar woman to the theater box, he was caught by many people and interrogated in various ways.
When he said, "I came with the intention of making you ladies into tengu," they understood that Densuke had fallen into delusion. "If we don't return her, and if I myself don't go back, this plan will be abandoned, and the female tengu will become arrogant like in a revenge tale. I guarantee it. The tengu were also at ease, but there isn't a single woman among them. There's nothing frightening about it at all. Women have no concern about becoming tengu. I cannot guarantee they'll become serpents." Thus, Densuke's story is presented exactly as it happened for your viewing.
