一同日為年始御祝儀 御登 城例之通御太刀馬代御献上

御謡初御祝儀御献上不被成段同人を以御達有之

享保二年丁酉（1717年）
一、正月元日に御屋敷において年始の御規式が行われた
一、同日、年始の御祝儀として御登城され、例の通り御太刀・馬代を御献上され、呉服を御拝領された
一、正月三日、昨夜梅姫様が御流産されたため、来る六日まで御穢れにつき、御使者として御留守居の宮北十郎左衛門定由を通じて御報告申し上げ、また右の事情により御謡初の御祝儀の御献上は行われない旨、同人を通じて御連絡があった
一、同日、右同様の理由により、御老中久世大和守重之殿へ御使者として御留守居を

1. On New Year's Day (1st of the 1st month), the New Year ceremony was held at the lord's residence
1. On the same day, for New Year's congratulations, [the lord] went to the castle and, as usual, presented a ceremonial sword and horse substitute, and received silk garments as gifts
1. On the 3rd of the 1st month, as Princess Ume had a miscarriage last night, due to ritual defilement until the 6th, a messenger - the castellan Miyanokita Jūrozaemon Sadayoshi - was sent to report this matter, and also to convey that the New Year utai (Noh chanting) ceremony offering would not be performed due to these circumstances
