「きめうとうらいからだ大事（だいじ）くらがもろい引やれ〳〵〳〵〳〵
おもてへにげだせ「どうしたさわぎだたすけてくんねへ
二日の四（よ）つ時（どき）俄（にわか）のことでな天地（てんち）しんどうかゝあとふたりの地（ぢ）しんのむつごと
なまづにけされてふんどしひとつでからだもせがれも
ちゞみあがつてんねんぶつだいもく一どにとなへて
おもてへころ〳〵戸板一枚（といたいちまい）生死（しやうし）のさかいだ
こういふうちにもよくづらかわいておやじのゆづりの
大（たい）きんづゝみを落（おと）しはせぬかとさぐつて見（み）たれば
さて〳〵大へんいつのまにやらどこへかおとしてどうした
ものだとよく〳〵さぐればあんまりこはさにつるしあがつて
でべそのきはになかくれてけつかるこれですこしはあんしんかなめの
鹿島（かしま）さんでもおやどにござらばこうしたくらうは
きなかもあるめへよがなよつぴてうろ〳〵まご〳〵あつちの
すみではまんざいらく〳〵のじゆくのあげたはてぶりのあみがさ
すだちのまんまでねござも持（もた）ずにお小屋（こや）をねがつて元（もと）のわが身（み）に
やう〳〵かへつた神（かみ）のいとくやおかみのおめぐみ◎

「決めよう裏から体大事、蔵がもろい、引っ張れ〜〜〜〜
表へ逃げ出せ」「どうした騒ぎだ、助けてくれ」
二日の四つ時、俄かのことで天地震動、かかあと二人の地震の睦言
ナマズに蹴散らされて褌一つで、体も息子も
縮み上がって念仏題目一度に唱えて
表へころころ、戸板一枚、生死の境だ
こういう中にもよく面の皮が厚くて、親父の譲りの
大金包みを落としはしないかと探ってみたれば
さてさて大変、いつの間にやらどこへか落として、どうした
ものだとよくよく探せば、あまりの恐ろしさに吊し上がって
出べその際に隠くれて、結構これで少しは安心、要の
鹿島さんでもお宿にいらっしゃればこうした苦労は
来ることもあるまい。夜が夜っぴて うろうろ まごまご あちらの
隅では万歳楽々の宿の上げた果て振りの編み笠
素立ちのままで寝茣蓙も持たずにお小屋を願って元の我が身に
ようやく帰った神の威徳やお上のお恵み◎

and hidden near my protruding navel - well, this gave me some peace of mind. If even
Kashima-san of great importance were staying at this lodging, such hardships
would probably not come to pass. All night long, wandering about confused, over in that
corner the inn that the manzai performers had raised, with their performance hats
just as they were, without even sleeping mats, requesting shelter and returning
to my original self, through the divine virtue of the gods and the benevolence of the authorities◎
