一番外以上御呵閉門遠慮等被仰付追而御免等被仰出候者只今迄目付中を以被
申渡候処以来ハ仲間月番を以被申渡目付中者立合其様子見届申迄ニ仕候様被仰付候
但御改易御暇蟄居等被仰付候者之儀ハ目付中を以可被申渡候由御用人波々伯部八左衛門を以
元文五申十二月十四日御用番酒井典膳方被申渡候
△一侍中不調法有之遠慮逼塞閉門等被仰付候節其支配頭ゟ番人等之儀其外致通達
候半而不叶儀有之節上ゟ被仰付候遠慮逼塞閉門之者之方へ通達之儀ハ御家老中
へ相伺御差図を以取捌可有之筈 寛保二戌六月朔日諸月番頭等へ致御達候
一京都江戸等定府之者御役御取揚遠慮等被仰付妻子此方へ罷帰候節者一類之者へ
帰着日限相尋組之者町端迄遠見ニ差出置筈
但御家老中へも依時宜相伺儀也

お咎めに関する諸事について
一、番外以上のお叱りで閉門・遠慮等を申し付けられ、追って御免等を申し渡される者は、今まで目付中を通じて申し渡していたが、今後は仲間月番を通じて申し渡し、目付中は立ち合ってその様子を見届けるだけにするよう申し付けられた。
ただし、御改易・御暇・蟄居等を申し付けられる者については、目付中を通じて申し渡すべきである旨、御用人波々伯部八左衛門を通じて元文五年十二月十四日に御用番酒井典膳方に申し渡された。
△一、侍中に不調法があり遠慮・逼塞・閉門等を申し付けられた際、その支配頭から番人等の件やその他通達をしなければならない不都合な事情がある場合、上から申し付けられた遠慮・逼塞・閉門の者への通達については、御家老中に相談してその指図によって処理すべきである。寛保二年六月一日に諸月番頭等に御達しした。
一、京都・江戸等の定府の者がお役お取り上げ・遠慮等を申し付けられ、妻子がこちらへ帰参する際は、一類の者に帰着の日限を尋ね、組の者を町端まで遠見に差し出しておくこと。
ただし、御家老中にも時宜によって相談すべき件である。
△一、寛保二年六月一日に左の通り書付を御本丸で御目付秋田三五左衛門に渡した。
一、侍中に不調法があり遠慮・逼塞・閉門等を申し付けられ大御番に入れられた場合、その番頭から右のお咎めの内でのお番入れ等の件やその他通達をしなければならない不都合な事情がある場合、右の通達の件について御家老中に相談すべきである。右の相談が済めば筆頭が出向いてそれぞれ取り扱うことになっている。
ただし、御目付共にも右の通達の件を申し達すべきである。

Regarding Various Matters Concerning Punishments
1. For those of rank "bangai" (supernumerary) and above who are reprimanded with house confinement, self-restraint, etc., and later receive pardons, the notifications were previously delivered through the metsuke (inspectors). From now on, they shall be delivered through the monthly duty officers (nakama tsukiban), with the metsuke only attending to witness and confirm the proceedings.
However, for those sentenced to dismissal from service (kaiekae), dismissal (hima), or house arrest (chikkyo), notifications shall continue to be delivered through the metsuke. This was communicated on the 14th day of the 12th month of Genbun 5 (1740) through goyōnin Namihaku-be Hachizaemon to goyōban Sakai Tenzen.
△1. When samurai commit misconduct and are ordered to self-restraint, confinement, house arrest, etc., if their supervising heads find it necessary to communicate matters regarding guards and other issues, but there are circumstances that make this inappropriate, communications regarding those under orders of self-restraint, confinement, or house arrest from above should be consulted with the Senior Councilors (karō) and handled according to their instructions. This was communicated to all monthly duty heads on the 1st day of the 6th month of Kanpō 2 (1742).
1. When those in permanent residence (jōfu) in Kyoto, Edo, etc. have their positions revoked or are ordered to self-restraint, and their wives and children return here, relatives should inquire about the date of return and post group members at the town's edge for observation.
However, this should also be consulted with the Senior Councilors depending on circumstances.
△1. On the 1st day of the 6th month of Kanpō 2 (1742), the following written instruction was handed to metsuke Akita Sangozaemon at the main castle:
1. When samurai commit misconduct and are ordered to self-restraint, confinement, house arrest, etc., and are assigned to the ōban (great guard), if their commanding officers find it necessary to communicate matters regarding guard duty assignments during their punishment period and other matters, but circumstances make this inappropriate, such communications should be consulted with the Senior Councilors. Once this consultation is completed, the senior officer should proceed and handle each matter accordingly.
However, the metsuke should also be informed of such communications.
