○一 元禄十六年未年八月六日記録
閉門を命じられた者が医者を呼ぶ場合は御家老中に伺いを立てること。遠慮を命じられた者が医者を呼ぶ場合は御目付の判断によって指示すること。なお、以前からこの通りである。
御咎中の病人及び病死の取り扱い
一 閉門を命じられた者の家内に重い病人がいて、医師や針立を呼びたい時は、通路人の親類縁者を頼んで番頭、或いは仲間を通じて御家老中に願い出て、指図次第で呼ぶこと。その際は目付中まで届け出ること。
但し、急病の場合は目付中まで申し出て指図を受けて取り扱うこと。
付け加えて、通路人の番頭からも、もちろん医師の誰を頼むかについて願いの通り許可が出た旨を御目付に届け出ること。
一 寛保二年戌年に岡部左膳方に渡された書付の内容は以下の通り
一 閉門の際、病気のために医者を呼びたい時は通路人が願い出ること。医者の名前も書き記すこと。
医者の方からは願い出る必要はない。
一 遠慮の際、医者を呼びたい時の取り扱いは上記と同じこと。
一 閉門の者の元へ医者が向かう際、通路人の方から往来のたびに届け出ること。医者の方からは最初に向かう際に一度届け出て、病人が快復し、もはや療治を終える際にその段階を御目付へ届け出ること。
但し、町医師は御目付へ直接届け出ず、町奉行から届け出ること。
【朱書き】一 町医師のことは、本文の通り願いが叶った上で通路人からその町医に依頼しておき、その上で願いの通り呼び寄せて療治させるよう命じられた。よって町医の誰々が閉門人の誰々宅へ参るよう申し聞かせるように町奉行へ依頼申し上げ、町奉行から月番御目付へ承合の上でその町医へ申し聞かせること【ここまで朱書き】
一 寛保二年戌八月十八日、通町医師が遠慮を命じられた者の方へ向かう際、町医から町奉行へ誰の方へ向かう旨を届け出れば、その際町奉行から御目付共へ届け出て、指図を受けて町奉行から町医へ勝手次第向かうよう取り扱うこと。最初の一度は町奉行から御目付共へ届け出て、その後は町医から直接御目付共へたびたび届け出て向かうこと。右の通り今日主馬方の宅において町奉行平本但見と面談し、主馬方へ伺いを立てて決めたものである。月番鈴木十左衛門

Handling of Sick Persons and Deaths During Punishment
One: When someone ordered into house confinement has a seriously ill person in their household and wishes to call a physician or acupuncturist, they must have the relatives or connections of the liaison person (tsūroji) petition through a captain (bantō) or colleague to the Senior Councilors, and call them according to instructions. At that time, they must also report to the Inspectors.
However: In cases of sudden illness, they must report to the Inspectors and receive instructions for handling.
Addition: The captain of the liaison person must also, of course, notify the Inspector that permission has been granted as requested regarding which physician to rely on.
