現代語訳

閉門の場合と同じ扱いとする。

一 閉門や遠慮を命じられた者のところに急病患者がいる場合は、通路人が月番の御目付へ直接届け出ること。

一 閉門の者が病気になった場合は、通路の者、或いは依頼した医師を月番の御目付へ呼んで病気の様子を尋ねること。▽二丁後に例がある。
但し、御在江戸の際はこの取り扱いの様子を申し送ること。

一 御咎の者が病気で危篤状態になった場合は、御免（赦免）されることがある。《割書：享保十三年申年九月二十八日、内田安右衛門の息子で御徒を勤めていた伝左衛門が御暇を賜り、安右衛門は遠慮中に病気で危篤となり遠慮を御免された。安右衛門に息子がいないため、すぐに養子の願いを申し上げた。同月晦日に病死の届け出があった》

一　山川右膳が病気で危篤状態になった際、蟄居を御免された。

一 宝暦四年戌年二月十四日、以前寄合の秋田八郎兵衛が蟄居を命じられていたところ、病気で危篤状態になったため今日御免された。翌十五日に死去した由。但し、山川右膳の先例があるため、このように御免されたとのこと。

一 寛延三年午年十月、御代官戸田弥次兵衛の遠慮中に病人が出て、町医や針立に診察させたい旨を通路人横山次郎四郎が申し出た。遠慮の者のところへ医者を呼ぶことは通路人から願い出ることになっているが、急病のようなので了簡をもって指図した。町医両人に依頼することになり、医者の方から届け出があるので、町奉行からこちらへ届け出れば済む旨を月番蟹江善右衛門が申し聞かせた。これにより町医を呼んで診察させた由。後でこの趣を御家老中へ申し達した。また、その後も引き続き療治を依頼したい旨を次郎四郎の方から再度願い出て、願いの通り命じられた旨の記録がある。

一 宝暦十二年午年二月七日、御勝手役土田善兵衛が借金の件で昨日六日に御咎を命じられたところ、今日病死したため、検使として御徒目付山品忠太夫を派遣した。同月二十五日、御用番を通じて善兵衛の家の断絶が命じられた。

一 同十四年申年六月、川崎常右衛門の閉門中に親の久右衛門が病死したため、通路勝山藤五郎が御番頭酒井十之丞に伺いを立てたところ、御用番酒井外記方に伺いが立てられ、御目付の指図に任せる旨であったため、蟹江善右衛門に指図を得た。葬式の際は鳴物無用で、できるだけひそかに行い、駕籠の者両人、紋付提灯一張のほかに手明一両人が付くことは差し支えない。藤五郎が付き添って行くこと。そのほかに一類が寺へ行くことはならない旨指図した。
但し、寺での少々の鳴物は許すのか。

一 明和二年酉年（元は申年か）五月、東郷三郎右衛門の五十石を御取り上げ、閉門を命じられたところ、七月二日に下女が病死した件、またその際若党が乱心したため門外へ追い出した件の取り扱い記録がある。

一 寛政八年辰年四月朔日、長谷川善兵衛の遠慮中に親の郡太左衛門の妾貞心が病死したため、願い寺の石場妙国寺へ密かに送った件。

一 同五年丑年、御医師上田春泰の伺い遠慮中に妻が出産し、その少児が死去したため、願い寺教円寺へ送った件。正月二十四日。

一 天保十年亥年五月十一日、三沢助次郎が閉門を命じられたところ、同月晦日に少児が病死し、六月朔日に寺へ送った。

一 元禄十七年申年、出浦《見せ消ち：源五右衛門｜深右衛門》が御暇を賜り栃泉村に住んでいたところ病死した。御暇之部に記載されている。

Yasuemon, who was under house restraint, became critically ill and was pardoned from his restraint. Since Yasuemon had no son, he immediately petitioned to adopt an heir. A death report was filed on the last day of the same month.}}

One: When Yamakawa Uzen became critically ill, he was pardoned from house arrest.

One: On the 14th day of the 2nd month of Hōreki 4, Year of the Dog, Akita Hachirōbei, formerly of the council, who had been ordered into house arrest, became critically ill and was pardoned today. He died the following 15th day. However, this pardon was granted following the precedent of Yamakawa Uzen.

One: In the 10th month of Kan'en 3, Year of the Horse, during the house restraint of Deputy Toda Yajiemon, a sick person appeared and liaison person Yokoyama Jirōshirō requested to have town physicians and acupuncturists examine them. While calling doctors to those under restraint requires a petition from the liaison person, since this seemed to be a sudden illness, instructions were given with discretion. Two town physicians were to be consulted, and since there would be notification from the physicians, monthly duty Kanie Zenemon informed that if the Town Magistrate reported to this office, it would be sufficient. Accordingly, town physicians were called for examination. Later, this matter was reported to the Senior Councilors. Furthermore, when Jirōshirō petitioned again for continued treatment, it was granted as requested, and there is a record of this.

One: On the 7th day of the 2nd month of Hōreki 12, Year of the Horse, Financial Officer Tsuchida Zenbei was punished yesterday, the 6th, for debt issues, but died today. Inspector Yamashina Chūdayū was dispatched as examiner. On the 25th of the same month, the extinction of Zenbei's house was ordered through the Duty Officer.

One: In the 6th month of the 14th year of Meiwa, Year of the Monkey, during Kawasaki Tsuneemon's house confinement, his father Kyūemon died. Liaison person Katsuyama Tōgorō consulted with Captain Sakai Jūnosuke, who consulted with Duty Officer Sakai Geki, and was told to follow the Inspector's instructions. When instructions were sought from Kanie Zenemon, it was directed that the funeral should be conducted without musical instruments, as quietly as possible, with two palanquin bearers, one crested lantern, and two additional attendants permitted. Tōgorō should accompany them. Other relatives may not visit the temple.

One: On the 1st day of the 4th month of Kansei 8, Year of the Dragon, during Hasegawa Zenbei's house restraint, Teishin, the concubine of his father Kōri Tazaemon, died of illness and was secretly sent to the requested temple, Ishiba Myōkokuji.

One: In the 5th year, Year of the Ox, during the inquiry restraint of court physician Ueda Shuntai, his wife gave birth and the infant died, so it was sent to the requested temple, Kyōenji. The 24th day of the 1st month.

One: On the 11th day of the 5th month of Tenpō 10, Year of the Boar, Misawa Sukejiō was ordered into house confinement. On the last day of the same month, an infant died of illness and was sent to the temple on the 1st day of the 6th month.
