昨申年来凶作萬民及飢饉
米価至一石銀三百匁未曾有
之事也

元日己卯晴四海静謐節句御神事如例年也○経寛初而
御参賀並節會等供奉相勤云々珍重々々○御殿 西御所
御歓楽之御子細ニ付乍御内之御鎮守御拝並御備進物被止之
御参賀御延引御祝向無之御家中御礼延引着用服紗麻
上下御餝向被相正来ル七日被■清云々
五日癸未小雪今暁 大御所御外戚御姨立川主殿母松本
小代死去ニ付御定式之御假服御請被遊也依之御祝向御家中御礼
等来ル十五日迄尚又御延引被仰出尤御餝惣而被相延也
六日甲申晴若御所御内実助七日御忌明ニ付明早朝経千
御清祓之義大夫難波伊豫守ヲ以被 仰付御請申上也
現代語訳
昨年申年以来の凶作で万民が飢饉に及び、
米価は一石銀三百匁に至る未曾有の
事である。
天保八年丁酉年
正月大
元日己卯晴れ、四海静謐、節句の御神事は例年の如くである。○経寛が初めて
御参賀並びに節会等の供奉を相勤めたとのこと、珍重である。○御殿 西御所の
御歓楽の御子細につき、御内々の御鎮守御拝並びに御備え進物を停止され、
御参賀は御延引、御祝い向きは無し、御家中の御礼は延引、着用は服紗麻の
上下、御飾り向きは相正され、来る七日に清められるとのこと。
五日癸未小雪、今暁 大御所の御外戚である御姨の立川主殿の母松本
小代が死去したため、御定式の御仮服を御請けになった。これにより御祝い向き、御家中の御礼
等は来る十五日まで尚また御延引を仰せ出され、もとより御飾りも総て延期された。
六日甲申晴れ、若御所の御内実助の七日御忌明けにつき、明早朝経千の
御清祓いの義を大夫難波伊予守を以て仰せ付けられ、御請け申し上げた。

New Year's Day, Tsuchinoto-u, clear weather, the four seas are peaceful, seasonal divine rituals were conducted as in previous years. ○ Kyōkan for the first time
served in attendance for New Year's court ceremonies and seasonal banquets, which was most auspicious. ○ In the palace, the Western Palace's
joyous celebrations were postponed due to certain circumstances. Private worship at the protective shrine and ceremonial offerings were suspended,
New Year's court ceremonies were postponed, congratulatory events were cancelled, household ceremonies were delayed, attire was restricted to mourning hemp
kamishimo, decorative arrangements were properly arranged, and purification will take place on the coming 7th day.
5th day, Mizunoto-hitsuji, light snow. This dawn, Matsumoto
Koyo, mother of Tachikawa Tonomo (maternal relative of the Great Lord), passed away, so formal mourning attire was adopted according to regulations. Consequently, congratulatory events and household ceremonies
were further postponed until the coming 15th day, and naturally all decorations were also delayed.
6th day, Kinoe-saru, clear. Regarding the end of the 7-day mourning period for Naijitsu-suke of the Young Lord's household, tomorrow morning Kyōsen's
purification ritual was ordered through Senior Retainer Namba Iyo-no-kami, and acknowledgment was humbly submitted.
