大久保（おほくほ）の映山紅（きりしま）は
弥生（やよひ）の末を盛（さかり）とす
長丈余のもの数株（あまた）
ありて其（その）紅艶（こうえん）を愛（あい）
するの輩（ともから）こゝに群遊（くんいう）す
花形（くわきやう）微少（ちいさし）といへとも
叢（むらか）り開（ひらき）て枝茎（しけい）を蔽（かく）す
さらに満庭（まんてい）紅（くれない）を灌（そゝく）
か如（こと）く夕陽（ゆうひ）に映（えい）して
錦繍（きんしう）の林（はやし）をなす
此辺の壮観（さうくわん）

【右丁】
大久保（おおくぼ）の映山紅（つつじ）は
三月（やよい）の末を盛りとする。
丈余りもある大きなものが数多くあり、
その美しい紅色を愛でる人々が
ここに集まって遊んでいる。
花の形は小さいといっても
群がって咲いて枝や茎を覆い隠す。
まるで庭一面に紅を注いだかのようで、
夕日に映えて錦織りのような美しい林をなしている。
この辺りの壮観である

The azaleas (eigizan-beni/kirushima) of Okubo
reach their peak at the end of March.
There are many large specimens over ten feet tall,
and people who love their beautiful crimson color
gather here to enjoy themselves.
Though the individual flowers are small,
they bloom in clusters covering the branches and stems.
It is as if crimson has been poured over the entire garden,
and reflecting in the evening sun, they form a forest like brocade.
What a magnificent sight
this area presents!
