昨夜五ツ半時より辰巳風にて雨降出九半比
別而大風雨見合も無之程の烈風ニ御座候夫
ニ川之高浪芝高輪辺人家押流本所深川辺是
も壱面水ニ相成何も床上ケ漸々凌候ものも
有中ニハ凌兼候而落命之ものもよほと佃島
ハ家壱軒もなく流失人死も数多御座候趣未
人数調不申深川仮宅風にて倒レ是又怪我人
死人余程本所御船蔵五ケ所吹倒レ築地門跡
同断永代橋中程ゟ落其外水難風難所々其上
失火浅草辺并芝よほと焼失誠ニ稀成風雨ニ

右ハ江戸御石場より木内兵七登り居差出し
手帋之写

昨夜五つ半時より辰巳の風にて雨が降り出し、九つ半頃、特に大風雨で見合わせることもない程の烈風でございました。それで川の高波が芝高輪辺りの人家を押し流し、本所深川辺りも一面水になり、何とか床上げして漸く凌いでいる者もありましたが、中には凌ぎかねて命を落とした者もよほどおりました。佃島は家一軒もなく流失し、人死にも数多くございました由。まだ人数調べは申し上げておりません。深川では仮宅が風で倒れ、これもまた怪我人、死人がよほど出ました。本所のお船蔵五か所が吹き倒れ、築地門跡も同断。永代橋は中程より落ち、その外水難風難が所々で起こり、その上失火で浅草辺りならびに芝がよほど焼失いたしました。誠に稀な風雨でございました。
右は江戸のお石場より木内兵七が登り居り、差し出した手紙の写しです。
一昨二十五日夜、大風雨にて橋々が流れ、家なども潰れたことでございましたが、南の方ほど大嵐のようだと風聞でございます。奥州棚倉より八月二十七日来状。
一、当月十三日、大坂表で大雷にて七十か所余りに落ち、死人百人余りの由。

Last night from the 5th and half hour, with southeast winds, rain began to fall, and around the 9th and half hour, there was such fierce wind with heavy rain that there was no respite from the violent storm. Consequently, high waves in the rivers swept away houses in the Shiba-Takanawa area, and the Honjo-Fukagawa area also became completely flooded. Some people managed to raise their floor levels and barely survived, but among them, quite a few who could not endure lost their lives. On Tsukuda Island, not a single house remained - all were washed away, and there were numerous deaths as well. The casualty count has not yet been reported. In Fukagawa, temporary houses were blown down by the wind, and this also resulted in many injured and dead. Five government ship warehouses in Honjo were blown down, as was the Tsukiji gate ruins. Eitai Bridge collapsed from its middle section. In addition to these water and wind disasters occurring in various places, there were also fires, with considerable areas burned in Asakusa and Shiba. This was truly an extraordinary storm.
The above is a copy of a letter submitted by Kiuchi Hyōshichi, who had come up from the Edo stone quarry.
The night before last, on the 25th, due to heavy wind and rain, bridges were washed away and houses collapsed. It is rumored that the southern areas experienced particularly severe storms. Letter received on August 27th from Tanagura in Ōshū.
On the 13th of this month, there was great thunder in Osaka, striking over seventy locations, with over one hundred deaths reported.
