様も有之時勢不得止事儀ニ付何レニ欤御所
置之次第可有之間右之含ヲ以使節船之儀ハ
其地え是非引留置応接之模様早々申越候様

英吉利使節船渡来の節、応接の次第御達しに相達し置き候えども、今般交易の儀は彼方にも強いて見込み候哉と相聞き、此度の儀は容易ならざる模様に相見え候間、何れにも当地より応接の御役人指遣わされずば相成るまじく候。尤も交易筋の儀は当時各国の模様も有之、時勢止むを得ざる事儀に付き、何れに欤御所置の次第有るべく候間、右の含みを以て、使節船の儀はその地へ是非引き留め置き、応接の模様早々申し越し候様致すべく候。左候ば応接の御役人早々御指遣し
