余弱冠与友人対読温疫論、読次参攷諸書、以標記
於上層、天保癸卯、又講此書、乃集為小冊子、以便講

温疫論札記跋
私は二十歳頃、友人と共に『温疫論』を読み合わせ、読み進める際に諸書を参考にして、それを上段に書き込んだ。天保甲辰年（1844年）に、再びこの書を講義し、小冊子にまとめて講義や学習の便宜を図った。しかし、私の考証はまだ大倉庫の中の僅かな米粒のようなもので、一つを挙げて百を漏らすような不完全なものである。読者が誤りを正し、漏れを補ってくれれば大変ありがたい。椿庭山田業広記す。
天保甲辰年にこの書を草稿として書いたが、訂正や削除の跡が雑然としており、ほとんど見られないような状態であった。今年文久癸亥年（1863年）に、大洲藩医官梅林玄瑞と白川藩医官乗附春海が、逐条原書と対校してくれたので、その後体裁がどうにか見られるようになった。しかし、この小さな冊子が、どうして著述と言えるだろうか。ただし、二人の勤勉さも無駄にしたくないので、再び装丁して冊子とし、書架に挿しておく。椿庭再び記す。

Postface to "Notes on the Treatise on Warm Epidemic Diseases"
When I was around twenty years old, I read the "Treatise on Warm Epidemic Diseases" together with a friend, and as we progressed through our reading, I consulted various books and made annotations in the upper margins. In the year Tenpo Kinoto-U (1844), I lectured on this book again and compiled it into a small booklet for the convenience of lectures and study. However, my textual research is still like a few grains of rice in a great storehouse - incomplete, mentioning one thing while omitting a hundred others. I would be most grateful if readers would correct errors and supplement omissions. Written by Tsubakitei Yamada Narihiro.
I drafted this book in Tenpo Kinoto-U year, but the corrections and deletions were so chaotic that it was almost unreadable. This year, in Bunkyu Mizunoto-I (1863), Ozu domain physician Bairin Genrui and Shirakawa domain physician Noritsuke Harumi collated it item by item against the original text, and afterwards the format became somewhat presentable. However, how could this small booklet be called a scholarly work? But not wanting to waste the diligence of these two men, I have had it bound again into a booklet and placed it on the bookshelf.
