高遠在番に付き三月朔日に願い出て、二日に出立した。
同五日に江戸に着いた。
一、同年四月十五日、在番留守中に妻が
不慮の手傷を負った事情について、そのまま放置することはできない。
特に相手に心当たりの者もいるので尋ねたく、
永の御暇（長期休暇）を願い出た旨を詳細に
御聴取いただいたところ、聞き届けられ、願いの通り永の御暇を
下された。都合次第出仕して存念を遂げるべきである。先達って
御屋敷から出奔した中山常右衛門については、不届きな
重罪の者なので御尋ねを仰せ付けられた旨、
公儀の御番所へも御届けを出されているので、召し捕らえ次第
御仕置きを仰せ付けられる思し召しがある者である。
見つけ次第捕縛し御屋敷へ連れて来るよう
専ら心がけるべきである。しかしその節の様子によって
やむを得ず討ち留めることになれば、かねてより御尋ねの者なので先達って
三御奉行所へ御届けを出してある旨を申し、その節は
こちら様の御家来である旨を申し立てるようにするべきである。養父
以来特にそなたは常々勤功を思し召されているので、
追って首尾をもって帰参を仰せ付けられるであろう。また
残し置いた厄介の者どもへの御合力として五人扶持を
下される。
一、同四年丁卯正月二十日、思し召しがあって帰参の
御沙汰に及ばれた。

He requested leave on the first day of the third month due to his assignment to Takato garrison duty, and departed on the second day.
He arrived in Edo on the fifth day of the same month.
1. On the fifteenth day of the fourth month of the same year, while he was away on garrison duty,
his wife sustained unexpected injuries. The circumstances could not be left unaddressed,
especially since there were suspects in mind whom he wished to investigate.
He petitioned for extended leave (eikyu no oitoma), and when the details were
heard, his request was granted and extended leave was
approved. He was to serve according to convenience and fulfill his intentions. Regarding
Nakayama Tsuneemon, who had previously absconded from the residence, as he was a disloyal
person guilty of serious crimes, an investigation was ordered.
Since notification had also been submitted to the government guard stations, once captured,
punishment would be decreed for this person who was subject to his lordship's judgment.
He should make every effort to apprehend the suspect upon sight and bring him to the residence.
However, if circumstances at the time made it unavoidable to kill him in the struggle,
since he was already a wanted person, notification had previously been submitted to
the three magistrate offices, and at such time,
it should be declared that he was a retainer of this household. Since his adoptive father's time,
you have been especially recognized for your faithful service,
so in due course you will be ordered to return with honor. Moreover,
as assistance for the dependents left behind, a stipend of five persons' worth was
granted.

appointed from guard duty to personal attendance (goshoku tsutome).
