他（た）を恵（めぐ）み我（われ）をわす
仁 れて物ごとに慈悲（じひ）ある
人を仁（じん）としるべし
へつらはずおごる事なく
義 あらそはず欲（よく）をはなれて
義理（ぎり）をあんぜよ
君（きみ）をあふぎ臣（しん）を思（おも）ひて
礼 かりそめもたかきいやしき
礼義（れいぎ）みだすな
何事（なにこと）も其（その）しな〴〵を
智 知（し）る人（ひと）をひろく尋（たづ）ねて
他（た）をなそしりそ
心（こゝろ）いと直（なを）かるべしと祈（いのり）
信 つゝあしきをすてゝ
よきをともなへ

撫育草（そだてくさ）下ノ巻
〇幼稚（ようち）の人（ひと）の病（びやう）
身（しん）になりて成人（せいじん）を
なす事（こと）あたはず又（また）
息才（そくさい）にて成人（せいじん）致（いた）し
たりとも不身持（ふみもち）

他人を恵み、自分を忘れて
仁 あらゆる物事に慈悲深い
人を仁のある人と知るべきである
へつらわず驕ることなく
義 争わず欲を離れて
義理を大切にしなさい
君主を仰ぎ臣下を思いやって
礼 ちょっとしたことでも身分の高い低いに関わらず
礼儀を乱してはならない
何事もその本質を
智 知る人を広く尋ねて
他人を中傷してはならない
心がとても素直であるようにと祈り
信 続けて悪いことを捨てて
良いことを友としなさい

Benevolence being compassionate in all things—
know such a person as benevolent
Without flattery or arrogance,
Righteousness without争ing or being attached to desire,
cherish moral duty
Revering one's lord and caring for retainers,
Propriety even in trivial matters, regardless of high or low status,
do not disturb proper etiquette
In all matters, seeking to understand their true nature,
Wisdom widely seek out knowledgeable people and
do not slander others
Praying that one's heart be very honest,
Trustworthiness continue to abandon evil and
make good your companion
