このように恐ろしいことの数々であったが、翌日になると御府内の大火は一時に消え、地震は折々揺れるものの格別のことはなく、御仁徳の恩沢によって、家屋敷を失った身分の低い者たちへはそれぞれお手当てと救助米が下し置かれ、四民は腹鼓を打って太平の御国恩を拝し奉るとのことで、めでたいことであった。

一、御屋敷 二千五百六十余軒 損ず
一、寺院・堂社 三万九千六百三十ヶ所
一、土蔵の数 五億八万九千七百八十六ヶ所
このような大きな凶変を、縁者のために書き集めたのも、ひとえに老婆心からに過ぎない。

Such were the terrifying events that occurred. However, by the following day, the great fires within the city limits were extinguished all at once, and though the earth continued to tremble from time to time, nothing of particular consequence occurred. Through the benevolent grace of [the Shogunate's] virtuous governance, those of humble station who had lost their homes and properties were each provided with relief payments and emergency rice rations. The four classes of people beat their bellies in contentment, gratefully receiving the blessings of this peaceful realm — a most auspicious outcome indeed.
