どのようなことであろうかと思っていたところ、張りのある気持ちでいらっしゃるので嬉しく思われた。中将殿は内裏へ参上していらっしゃったけれども、いつものように帝は御簾の内にこもっていらっしゃって、お出ましにもならず、日が暮れるまでそこにいらして、その日も暮れてしまったので、正慶天皇が清涼殿へお入りになるのを見ようと思って、回廊の細殿の御簾の際に寄り添って、中将がお控えになっているうちに、清涼殿へ遅くお上がりになるということで、お使いの女房たちが行き違いに参上なさったけれども、すぐにもお出ましにならず、あまりに頻繁であったので、ひどくお思いになって、正慶天皇は女房に
