英語訳
(Continued from previous page) ...regarding the divine rites: when the Shōhafuri (Chief Ritualist) position is vacant, the shrine officials of the Seven Families (shichike) shall confer among themselves and perform the duties, and for the replacement of that position, the eldest son (chakudan) among the children of the shrine officials of the Seven Families shall perform the duties. **Daikan Kōki (Deputy Administrator's Supplementary Record), Volume 2 Kyōhō 2nd Year (From the 1st Day of the 1st Month to the 29th Day of the 3rd Month)**
**Index of Key Documents**
6th Day of the 1st Month, Kyōhō 2nd Year (1717)
Item: It was decreed that the materials submitted by the ujibito (clan members/shrine people) of the shrine, the Five Families (goke), and the Hayashi family shall be compiled as a separate volume and submitted as a written document.
17th Day of the Same Month
Item: A petition in the form of a written oral statement (kōjōgaki) was submitted, arguing that if things were to proceed as decreed at the time of the minor festival (shōsai) last winter, the established customs (sharei) of the shrine would not hold, and the lineages and standing (sujiame) of the ujibito would be ruined.
22nd Day of the 2nd Month
Item: The shrine families (shake) of Shimogamo were summoned before the Goshōshi (Imperial Household Administrator), and inquiries were made regarding the status and rank (kakushiki) of the Shimogamo shrine officials and ujibito.
13th Day of the 3rd Month
Item: The general representatives (sōdai) of the Shingū and lower shrines were summoned and appeared. Inquiries were made regarding the following: first, that within the schedule of festival duties (gosaimoku), matters from Kifune Shrine and above should be performed by the Seven Families; and second, regarding the matters of daikan (deputy administrator) duties and consultation/agreements (katawai) contained in the precedent studies (kan-rei) previously submitted. It was decreed that written documents addressing these inquiries shall be submitted.
14th Day of the Same Month
Item: Regarding the matters inquired about the previous day, written documents were submitted — one volume each — to the Tensō-bugyō (Imperial Liaison Officers).
Item: Regarding the single genealogical record (keifu) derived from one progenitor (zaijitsu) of the Kamo clan, there is no distinction made between legitimate (chaku) and illegitimate (sho) lines.
