昨日は地震のお見舞いをいただき、わざわざお越しくださいまして、誠に近頃稀なる地震でございました。態々お出でくださり、格別にありがたく、厚くお礼申し上げます。
さて、先日は植木を差し上げました際のお礼として、何かのお菓子をお恵みくださいまして、これまた厚くお礼申し上げる次第です。あまりにもご丁寧にしていただき、厚々お礼申し上げます。皆様、まずはご無事のこと、安心いたしております。
ところが、また今日も地震がありまして、少々困り入る事態でございます。短い手紙ではございますが、お礼とお見舞いを兼ねて申し上げます。皆様のご様子をお伺いがてら、お祝いの気持ちを申し上げます。

Yesterday, you kindly visited to inquire about our well-being after the earthquake. You took the trouble to come visit us, and it was indeed a rare earthquake we have experienced recently. I am particularly grateful that you made the effort to come, and I offer my sincere thanks.
Now, regarding the plants I presented to you the other day, you graciously gave us some confections in return, for which I also express my heartfelt gratitude. You have been excessively thoughtful, and I am deeply thankful. I am relieved that everyone is safe and well above all.
However, we had another earthquake again today, which has caused us some concern. Though this is but a brief letter, I write to express both my thanks and to inquire after your well-being. I send my congratulations while inquiring about everyone's condition.
