According to the Hankan-fu: Hijikata Kawachi-no-kami Minamoto no Takahisa was a descendant of Tarō Hideharu, the seventh-generation grandson of Yamato-no-kami Yorichika. His father was a certain Hikosaburō, his childhood name was also Hikosaburō, later called Kanbē, and he served the Kitabatake family. In the winter of Tenshō 12, during the reconciliation between Nobuo and Hideyoshi, he was granted Inuyama Castle in Owari Province with 45,000 koku for his meritorious cooperation, and served the Toyotomi family.
