之忌祭蓋今前田家以神道明年
四月於金沢尾山神社被修三百
年祭被廢仏道之忌祭故也予竊
按三百年忌祭相當旧暦閏三月實
可謂値遇矣追慕三百年来之国恩
而編纂封国考聊表徴志云爾

現代語訳
忌祭を執り行った。思うに、今前田家は神道を以てし、明年四月に金沢尾山神社において三百年祭を修められ、仏道の忌祭は廃されるからである。私がひそかに考えるに、三百年忌祭が旧暦閏三月に相当するのは、まことに巡り合わせと謂うべきである。三百年来の国恩を追慕して封国考を編纂し、いささか徴志を表すのである。

memorial service. It appears that the current Maeda family follows Shintoism, and next year in April they will conduct a three-hundred-year festival at Oyama Shrine in Kanazawa, having abolished the Buddhist memorial services. I privately consider that the three-hundred-year memorial service corresponding to the intercalary third month of the old calendar can truly be called a fateful encounter. In remembrance of three hundred years of national benevolence, I have compiled this "Study of the Feudal Domain" to express my modest aspirations.
