現代語訳

地震がようやく静まって、諸人はじめて安堵はするものの、家を失い路頭に迷い、親子・兄弟・夫婦の間も離れ離れとなり、みな死に別れ——かかる難儀のその折から、このたび尾張の旧殿様は、もとの領分の百姓方へ五万円なるお救い金を下された。さらに政府の会議を開き、愛知・岐阜なる両県内へ、当時のお手当として三十五万五千円なるお救い金を下された。山の崩れに道路の普請、限りも知られぬそのお手配り、残る方なき御上様の深き恵みの、そのありがたき聞くも尊き一楽話（やんれ）。

英語訳

At last the earthquake subsided, and the people felt relief for the first time—yet having lost their homes, they wandered destitute, parents and children, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives all separated, parted by death. In the midst of such hardship, the former lord of Owari bestowed upon the peasants of his old domain a relief sum of fifty thousand yen. Furthermore, the government convened a session and granted a relief allowance of three hundred and fifty-five thousand yen to the two prefectures of Aichi and Gifu. For the landslides, the repair of roads, and countless other arrangements—the boundless benevolence of the authorities left nothing wanting.
