常州（常陸国）の筑波山中にあり。樹の高さは一丈（約3メートル）ほどで、葉の形はコムラサキに似ている。夏の月（夏の季節）に、葉の間に五弁の小さな白い花を群がり咲かせる。後に小さな実を結ぶ。初めは緑色で、熟すと白色となる。形状はコムラサキと同じである。

It grows in the mountains of Mount Tsukuba in Jōshū (Hitachi Province, present-day Ibaraki Prefecture). The tree reaches a height of about one *jō* (approximately 3 meters). The shape of the leaves resembles that of *Komurasaki*. In the summer months, small five-petaled white flowers bloom in dense clusters between the leaves. Afterward, small berries are produced. Initially green, they turn white upon ripening. The overall form is the same as that of *Komurasaki*.
