花鋪 第一層は岩石が各所に露出し、わずかに赤土を載せている。第二層も岩石である。

病客（湯治客）があまり多くないため、不潔さはそれほどひどくない。
原泉
応徳・花鋪ともに吾妻川のほとりに湧出している。応徳の場合は川床より低い位置で一丈余り下がったところ、坪の庭に丸石・砂礫が混在し、ここから湧出している。
花鋪の場合は河岸に一つの大岩石があり、河とちょうど水平の位置で岩が破裂して湧出し、半分は河に入り、半分は三、四尺のところで湯坪に入る。
清濁
両所とも澄んで清い。

Original Spring Source
Both Ōtoku and Hanashiki emerge beside the Agatsuma River. In the case of Ōtoku, it springs from a location more than one jō (about 3 meters) below the riverbed, in a courtyard area mixed with round stones and gravel.
In the case of Hanashiki, there is one large rock on the riverside at the same level as the river, where the rock has cracked and water springs forth. Half flows into the river, and half enters the hot spring pool at a distance of three to four shaku (about 1 meter).
