現代語訳
一 逮捕部隊が出発する際、穢多たちにも急いで同行するよう命じたところ、宮木で13人が追いついてきたこと
一 全部隊が宮木で持参した弁当を食べ、行灯・蝋燭・草鞋などを受け取り、馬に乗って出発したのは入相（日暮れ）の時分であった
一 宮木出発の少し前に、奉行様と旗本たちが宮木に到着された
一 塩尻峠で逮捕部隊が全員揃い、ここで四手に分かれた。ここからは提灯なしで行動し、ただしがんどう灯を一つずつ持参
一 穢多たちを四手に分けて同行させたが、逮捕部隊の方は一切手を出さず、ただ付き添って行くだけとした。万一異変があった場合はその時に指示を出すので心得ておくよう申し渡して同行させたこと
一 第四班が本洗馬村で17人を逮捕し、本陣まで護送する途中、太田村原まで案内を申し上げたこと。時刻は七つ時（午後4時頃）前であった
一 その後坂井九兵衛は本洗馬村の大庄屋宅に戻り、村役人を呼び寄せて全人数分の炊き出しを命じた。後藤杉蔵を配置し、御林から青竹30本を持参させ、西洗馬光輪寺前へ行き、脇差で竹を切って幕の串を作り、中山権七と共に陣小屋を建設したこと

One: When the arrest unit departed, the eta were also ordered to accompany them promptly, and 13 people caught up at Miyaki.
One: The entire force ate their packed lunches at Miyaki, received lanterns, candles, straw sandals, and other supplies, then departed on horseback around sunset (iri-ai time).
One: Shortly before departing Miyaki, the magistrate and his retainers arrived at Miyaki.
One: At Shiojiri Pass, all arrest forces assembled and divided into four groups. From this point, they proceeded without regular lanterns, carrying only one gando lamp each.
One: The eta were divided among the four groups to accompany them, but the arrest forces were instructed not to take any action themselves, only to escort them. They were told to await instructions if any emergency arose, and proceeded with this understanding.
One: The fourth group arrested 17 people in Hon-Seba village, and while escorting them to headquarters, provided guidance as far as Ota village field. This was before the seventh hour (around 4 PM).
One: After this, Sakai Kyubei returned to the headman's residence in Hon-Seba village, summoned the village officials, and ordered meals to be prepared for all personnel. He stationed Goto Sugiizo and had 30 green bamboo poles brought from the lord's forest to the front of Korin Temple in Nishi-Seba, where they cut them with short swords to make tent stakes, and together with Nakayama Gonshichi, constructed a field camp.
