さて貧乏神が謀りごとによって、鎌倉中が大いに浮気になり、遊女や男娼の商売が普段の百倍も盛んになった。
畠山重忠の嫡子重保は大磯へ入り込み、毎日遊び続けている。
和田義盛の三男である小林朝比奈も、この頃は大の艶男となり、髭も剃って本多髷に銀の煙管で、草摺引きなどは面倒だと三味線を弾いてごまかしている。
