栄える者は長く続かないという習いで、あれほど日夜絶え間なく客が来ていたが、息子は勘当され、店主は借金で首が回らなくなり、主人は心労で畳の上に寝たきりとなって惨めな状態になった。自分では「まあいいか」と思っていたが、痔の神様やらが尻について騙され、取り憑かれて色々と悩まされている。
「どうせそうしなければならないだろうが、十分に相談して用意して置いておこう」
「どうだ」
「これはなかなか本気では参りません。そこで湯治に使わせましょう」
