現代語訳
この頃通っている神の話を聞けば、鶴岡の先生が思いついて、諸国の道楽者に倹約をさせ、子孫を繁栄させようということだ。それでは貧乏神の氏子は枯れてしまうことになる。いわば僧正も道楽商売も同然のことなので、相談に来たのだ。
これには二十五天という誓いがある。この十月、神立ちの留守を幸い、短兵急に金を使わせ、急に貧乏にさせる工夫はいかがなものか。

そうそう、このことは我らが先だって承知したことだ。もう十月に近づいているので、一つ工夫がなくてはかなうまい。
