鎌田政家の妻は平氏で、長田荘司忠致の娘である。平治元年、源義朝は兵敗れて関東に逃走しようとし、途中で尾張野間に至り、忠致の家に身を寄せた。忠致は義朝を殺害し、併せて政家をも殺した。妻は変事を聞いて、その死に場所に至り、哀れみ慕い悲しみ嘆き、ついに政家の刃に伏して死んだ。

《From Dai Nihon Shi (Great History of Japan)》
Kamada Masakiyo's wife was of the Taira clan and the daughter of Osada Shōji Tadamune. In the first year of Heiji (1159), when Minamoto no Yoshitomo was defeated in battle and attempted to flee to the Kantō region, he stopped at Owari Noma on his way and took refuge in Tadamune's house. Tadamune killed Yoshitomo and also killed Masakiyo. When the wife heard of this calamity, she went to the place of their death, grieved and mourned with sorrow and lamentation, and finally fell upon Masakiyo's blade and died.
