海東郡
当郡は愛智郡の西に隣（とな）り北は中島郡を境（さかひ）とし西は海
西郡に接（せつ）し南はすべて海浜（かいひん）也もと海部（あまの）郡といひしが頼（より）
朝（とも）公天下を治（おさ）め給ひしころより二郡にわかれ東の方は則
海東郡西の方は今の海西郡也六国史をはじめ古書
どもには皆海部郡と記（しる）せり

現代語訳
海東郡
当郡は愛知郡の西に隣接し、北は中島郡と境界を接し、西は海西郡に接し、南は全て海浜である。もとは海部郡といったが、頼朝公が天下を治めた頃から二郡に分かれ、東の方は海東郡、西の方は今の海西郡となった。六国史をはじめとする古書には皆海部郡と記されている。
法界門橋（上萱津村の北にある五条川に架けられた長橋である）昔、甚目寺が大伽藍であった時、東の総門がここにあって法界門と呼ばれていたが、荒廃した後、その名前だけがこの橋に残っている。
萱津の里（今は上中下の三郷となって、その地域は非常に広い）吾妻鏡に「建久六年六月二十九日壬午、尾張国萱津宿に着かれ給う。当国の守護人野三刑部丞成綱、雑事を進む。嘉禎四年二月十日丙戌晴れ、萱津に御宿泊、亥の刻に将軍家俄かに御不例、御心乱か、諸人驚き騒ぐ。医師時長、医療を施す」

Kaitō District
This district is adjacent to the west of Aichi District, borders Nakajima District to the north, connects with Kaisai District to the west, and is entirely coastal to the south. Originally called Ama District, it was divided into two districts from the time when Lord Yoritomo ruled the realm - the eastern part became Kaitō District and the western part became the present Kaisai District. Ancient texts including the Rikkokushi all record it as Ama District.
Hōkaimon Bridge (a long bridge spanning the Gojō River north of Kami-Kayazu Village) - In ancient times when Jimoku-ji was a great monastery complex, the eastern main gate was located here and was called Hōkaimon, but after it fell into ruin, only the name remains with this bridge.
Kayazu Village (now divided into upper, middle, and lower districts, the area is quite extensive) - The Azuma Kagami records: "6th year of Kenkyū, 6th month, 29th day, mizunoe-uma: arrived at Kayazu post station in Owari Province. Narizuna, the provincial governor's deputy, reported various matters. 4th year of Katei, 2nd month, 10th day, hinoe-inu, clear weather: lodged at Kayazu. At the hour of the boar, the Shogun suddenly fell ill, perhaps mental disturbance, all were alarmed and disturbed. The physician Tokinaga administered medical treatment."
