《Side note: However, this is now abbreviated》Shari Kōshiki Zanpen (Remaining Chapters of the Relic Ceremony Ritual), one volume 《Side note: In the handwriting of Myōe Shōnin of Toganoo, both the text and documents are extremely ancient and elegant. The postscript records that the monk Kōben wrote this on the 27th day of the 1st month of Kenpō 2 (1214). This is the original manuscript and an extremely rare precious book》
Kanraku Myōjin Shrine 《Side note: Located in Kanurai village. This is what is listed in the Provincial Records as Shōichii Kanraku Myōjin. In the Kōfumiya text it appears as Shōichii-jō Kanraku Myōjin. Now called Hachiman》
Yunoki Shrine 《Side note: Located in Yugi village》Listed in the Engi Jinmyōchō as Yunoki Shrine, and in the Provincial Records as Jūsanmi Yunoki Tenjin 《Side note: Sometimes written as Yonogi》. The same collection's commentary privately states that the so-called Yunoki-no-mikoto mentioned in the Tenson Hongi was a person from whom Mimi-no-sukune 《Side note: ancestor of the Nuribe clan》descended. This is probably that deity, and appears to be the ancestral god of the Yugi-no-obito and others recorded in the remaining chapters of the Fudoki. Now commonly called Shinmei.
Saya Station - Outside of the fifty-three stations of the Tōkaidō, from here one crosses to Kuwana Station in Ise. This is called the Saya Route. This station is an extremely prosperous place where inns and lodgings line up in rows, and travelers never cease to come and go.
Sae Tenjin Shrine 《Side note: Located in Uchi-Saya village. Listed in the Provincial Records as Ama-gun Shōshii-ge Sae Tenjin. The same collection's commentary suggests it may be the Sansha Myōjin of Toda-shō Saya village, and it is now called Sansha Myōjin》
Kuina Mound 《Side note: Located south of the station area in the same place. A marker stone is erected at the entrance. Bashō's haiku and a text by his disciple Rosen are carved on the stone face》
